What’s in it

How to set it up: for day homes

  1. Claim your listing. Find your day home on the map and tap Claim, or add it if it isn’t there yet. We check that you run it, usually within a day. You can start setting up the app right away.
  2. Set up your day home. Open the app from your account and add your rates, policies and the days you’re open. Everything is in your own words, and you can change it any time.
  3. Bring in your families. Text new families your registration link. They fill it in on their phone, and you tap Accept. Families already with you? Add them yourself and send them the parent app link.
  4. Run your day from your phone. Tap to check kids in and out, send notes and photos, write Ouchie reports, and keep track of fees and tax receipts. Parents see it all in their app.

How to set it up: for parents

  1. Fill in your day home’s form. Your day home sends you a link. Fill in the registration on your phone: your child, your contact details and the permissions they ask for.
  2. Sign in with a code. Go to tinycareconnect.ca/family and enter the email you gave your day home. We email you a 6-digit code. There’s no password to remember.
  3. Add it to your home screen. Save the parent app to your home screen and turn on notifications, so you hear about notes, photos and Ouchie reports right away.
  4. Follow your child’s day. See drop-off and pick-up times, notes and photos from your day home, Ouchie reports to read, and what you owe.

Common questions

What does it cost?

The app is free to try, and your listing on TinyCare Connect stays free. Parents never pay for the parent app.

Do we need to download anything?

No app store. It runs in your phone’s browser, and you can save it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

Who can see a child’s information?

Only the day home and that child’s own parents. We store birth month and year, not the full birthday, and photos are cleared after 90 days.

My day home doesn’t use TinyCare yet. Can I still use the parent app?

The parent app connects to your day home, so they need to be set up first. Send them this page. You can still use the map, waitlists and spot alerts any time.

Does it work for licensed and private day homes?

Yes. You choose your home type in Settings, and the app uses the right age limits for the children in your care.
